DEA 1110 - Making a Difference by Design

Lab fee: $15 (charged to bursar bill). Limited to 130 students.

Focuses on issues of leadership, creative problem-solving, and risk-taking through case study examination of leaders in business, education, medicine, human development, science, and other areas who have made a difference using design as a tool for positive social change. Using a micro to macro framework, students examine how design affects their daily lives and future professions from the person to the planet. Additional topics include nurturing creativity, visual communications, socially responsible design and business, culture, and ecological issues.
