HADM 3010 (formerly 3301) - Service Operations ManagementFall, spring. 3 credits. Letter grades only. Required. Limited to 70 Hotel students per lecture. C. Anderson, S. Kimes, and G. Thompson. Students are introduced to statistical and operations research methods that are appropriate for the hospitality industry. The goal of the course is to provide students with the skills and understanding necessary for making decisions using quantitative data. Students use computer spreadsheet software extensively. A key requirement of the course is an ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear manner. Topics include probability, decision analysis, modeling, forecasting, quality management, process design, waiting lines, and project management. |
