HADM 4145 (formerly 4445) - Developing a Hospitality Entrepreneurship Business PlanFall. 3 credits. Letter grades only. Prerequisite: HADM 2430 (formerly 2243) or equivalent. Enrollment limited to: Hotel students, others by permission only. Elective. May not take HADM 4144 (formerly 4444) concurrently. J. Quest. A course for students who wish to learn the disciplines involved in creating and writing a well-grounded, concise business plan for a start-up concept. The course will focus on all elements of entrepreneurship: identifying and validating a new business opportunity; determining required resources; creating the structure for implementation and management; establishing operational budgets; developing financial projections; and creating strategies for harvesting the venture, including projecting capital needed for start-up. The teams will present completed plans to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and professional investors at the close of the course. |
