VTMED 6544 - Career Development and Practice ManagementSpring. 2 credits. S–U grades only. Enrollment limited to: third- and fourth-year veterinary students. M. Kraus and J. Morrisey. Professional practice and financial managers teach veterinary medical students the essential elements of a successful practice, concentrating on management and organizational skills. Topics include basic practice organization, leadership styles, career planning, communication skills, facility management, human resource management, marketing, building and maintaining clients, practice growth, personal finances, money management, insurance, animals and the law, malpractice, medical records, inventory and pharmacy management, and contracts. |
