Prerequisite: MATH 2940 or equivalent, ENGRD 3200 or experience in numerical methods and programming, and elementary fluid mechanics. P. L-F. Liu. Covers fundamental equations of saturated and unsaturated flow in porous media; flow in fractured media; numerical modeling of transport in porous media; diffusion and advective diffusion in one, two, and three dimensions; anisotropy; and additional terms for reactive substances. Teaches various numerical methods including finite difference, finite elements, and boundary elements. |
