PLHRT 3920 - Woody Plant Identification and Use II

Prerequisite: passing grade in PLHRT 3910  or PLHRT 4910 , or permission of instructor. Limited enrollment.

Module of PLHRT 4920 /LA 4920  covering the identification of approximately 160 evergreen trees and shrubs and deciduous plants using winter identification. Students also assist in the establishment of a new landscape on campus.

Outcome 1: Students will develop observation techniques, practice nomenclature and recognize plant characteristics necessary for the identification of evergreen and deciduous plants in winter.

Outcome 2: Students will learn how to use these plants in the landscape.
