PADM 5757 - Infrastructure Project Management and Finance Practicum

Recommended Prerequisite: PADM 5755 . Enrollment preference given to: students enrolled in CIPA's Infrastructure Project Management and Finance (IPMF) Certificate Program.

This engaged learning course will provide students with a first-hand look at the technical, social, economic and political dimensions associated with a real-world infrastructure challenge. Students will learn about the procedures, methods, challenges and opportunities involved in planning, executing and maintaining public infrastructure.  Note that this course requires an intensive field study over winter break. Students should contact the instructor for application and enrollment procedures.  Although this course is open to all students, priority will be given to students enrolled in CIPA's Infrastructure Project Management and Finance (IPMF) Certificate Program.

Outcome 1: Students will analyze the social, economic, political, and management issues surrounding an infrastructure project in a field study context.

Outcome 2: Students will be challenged to collect and synthesize information from a variety of sources. and translate this into policy.

Outcome 3: Students will apply key concepts in the field of infrastructure resilience and planning for uncertain futures.
