CHEM 1560 - Introduction to General Chemistry

Forbidden Overlap: Students may receive credit for only one course in the following group: CHEM 1560, CHEM 2070, CHEM 2090, CHEM 2160. Course fee: Nonrefundable lab fee (covers cost of safety goggles, lab apron, and breakage): $20.

A one-semester introduction to chemistry, both qualitative and quantitative. CHEM 1560 prepares students for CHEM 1570; CHEM 1560 is not recommended for premedical or preveterinary students; however, students who have never taken a chemistry course in secondary school or who have a very weak preparation sometimes take CHEM 1560 + CHEM 2080.
