MATH 1101 - Calculus Preparation

Fall, spring. 1 credit.

Staff.

Introduces a variety of topics of algebra to prepare students for calculus. Emphasis is on the development of linear, power, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. Due to the strong emphasis on graphing, students will have a better understanding of asymptotic behavior, limits, and their application to calculus. An introduction to the basic concepts of differential calculus, MATH 1101 is similar to 1/3 of the topics covered in MATH 1106  and MATH 1110  and includes: limits, rates of change, definition of and techniques for finding derivatives, relative and absolute extrema, and applications.
