AMST 2002 - An Overview of American Studies

Interested in American Studies as a possible major? Already declared as an American Studies major but not certain about all the possibilities that the program offers? Curious about potential topics and courses for future classes? This overview course will explore the wide variety of disciplines, perspectives, and understandings at work in the field of American Studies. Each week, different faculty members affiliated with the program will discuss their work, their perspective(s), and how their scholarly work animates their teaching. Faculty will come from the arts, the social sciences, the humanities, and science and society; their presentations will explore the complexities of American social, cultural, and political life. (HI)
