DEA 6530 - Planning and Managing the Workplace

Graduate course, but co-meets with undergraduate course DEA 4530 . Through lectures, readings, and projects, this course explores how the planning, design, and management of health care facilities affects patients, care providers, and health care quality. Course emphasizes the role of evidence-based design and examines issues and challenges in generating, interpreting, and applying different forms of evidence to improve health care quality and patient and staff experience. The final project involves students using different forms of evidence to develop their own innovative solutions to design dilemmas typically faced in planning and designing a hospital.
