The event, so frequently invoked in contemporary philosophical discourse, is a philosophical issue that has long preoccupied thinkers. Heidegger and Deleuze, by all accounts, belong to two very different schools of thought on the event. In this course we will read these two thinkers together, supplemented by the work of Leibniz.
