BEE 4270 - Water Measurement and Analysis Methods


     
Fall. 3 credits. Letter grades only.

Prerequisite: CEE 3310  or hydrology course. Satisfies BE and EnvE laboratory experience requirement.

Get wet and muddy learning how to monitor and characterize water and soil management problems in the natural environment. This is a field-based lab course that integrates science and engineering technologies, using various measurement equipment and analytical techniques to quantify water flow and quality parameters in surface and subsurface environments. Measurement accuracy, water sampling quality assurance protocols, and interpretation of watershed contaminants are addressed.

Outcome 1: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.

Outcome 2: An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

Outcome 3: An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice for engineering practice.
