AEP 1300 - Conceptual Physics

Fall, spring, summer. 3 credits.

Enrollment limited to: CPEP students. Offered in Auburn, NY. This course is part of the CPEP program.

Staff.

Introduces students to the methods of reasoning and the basic concepts traditionally presented in an introductory physics course. A historical perspective of the development of physics leads into a study of how experiment, theory, and conjecture have widened human understanding of the physical universe. From Newton’s Laws of Motion in the 17th century, which helped us understand our place in the solar system, to the development of the concept of energy, which spurred development of the heat engine and the industrial revolution, students will learn how advances in physics have shaped the modern world.
