CS 5460 - Parallel and Distributed Computing

An introduction to parallel and distributed computing systems. Topics that will be covered during the course include: platforms and models for parallel computing; message-passing parallelism; common structures and algorithms used in parallel systems including master/worker, task queues, global reductions, scans, map-reduce, stencils; hierarchical techniques; dynamic adaptation; shared memory parallelism.
