PLBRG 4110 - High-Throughput Plant Phenotyping


     
Spring (offered alternate years). 2 credits.

Prerequisite: One majors-level biology course or permission of instructor.

Introduction to high-throughput phenotyping of crop plants to improve their productivity and quality. The course discusses high-throughput strategies to measure agronomic, physiological, developmental, and biochemical traits in the lab and field.

Outcome 1: Students will be able to describe the needs for high-throughput phenotyping of crop plants.

Outcome 2: Students will be able to explain the scientific bases behind the approaches used for high-throughput plant phenotyping.

Outcome 3: Students will know the current status of development and commercialization of high-throughput plant phenotyping approaches.

Outcome 4: Students will demonstrate the ability of presentation.
