STS 4991 - Honors Project I

Multi-semester course (fall, spring). 4 credits. R grade only (in progress).

Permission of instructor required. Enrollment limited to: senior STS majors with overall Cornell cumulative GPA of 3.00 and 3.30 cumulative GPA in courses taken for major. Students must enroll for both the fall and spring semesters (STS 4991-STS 4992). Students who are admitted to the honors program are required to complete two semesters of honors project research and to write an honors thesis. The project must include substantial research, and the completed work should be of wider scope and greater originality than is normal for an upper-level course. The student must find a project supervisor and a second faculty member willing to serve as faculty reader; at least one of these must be a member of the Science & Technology faculty.
