Introduction to functional data analysis for students planning to do research on this topic and related areas. Weekly homework assignments covering both theory and data analysis and an individual final project based on readings in the literature. Topics include mean and covariance functions, functional principal components analysis and canonical correlation analysis, linear and nonlinear functional regression, alignment of functions, and multilevel functional data.
