This first year writing seminar offers students opportunities to write in a range of genres, as they explore the poetics of black sexuality. Drawing on critical and creative writings from Audre Lorde, E. Patrick Johnson, Robert Reid-Pharr, Cathy Cohen, Rinaldo Walcott, and Mecca Jamilah Sullivan, students will engage in writing exercises to improve clarity, style, and coherence.
