Academic Integrity

All Cornell students are required to learn their responsibilities under Cornell’s Code of Academic Integrity and to behave with absolute integrity in all academic undertakings. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the Code.  For student-specific information, see Guidelines for Students. You will also find helpful The Essential Guide to Academic Integrity at Cornell, which contains the Code, helpful examples, and practical advice.

Note two enrollment and grading impacts related to charges of Academic Integrity Code violations:

  • A student who has been charged with violating the Code of Academic Integrity in a course may not drop that course without the express written permission of the course instructor(s) unless the student has been cleared of the charges.
  • A student who has been charged with violating the Code of Academic Integrity in a course may not change the grading option for that course without the express written permission of the course instructor(s) unless the student has been cleared of the charges.
