MAE 5230 - Intermediate Fluid Dynamics with CFD Spring. 4 credits.
Prerequisite: graduate standing or permission of instructor. Co-meets with MAE 4230 .
Staff.
Intended for M.Eng. students who wish to take a fluid dynamics course including implementation of commercial computational fluid dynamics packages. Complements material in MAE 6010 and MAE 6020 . For description of topics covered, see MAE 4230 . Includes a 1-credit CFD design project due at the end of the semester.
Outcome 1: Course enables students to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
Outcome 2: Course enables students to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
Outcome 3: Course enables students to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
Outcome 4: Course provides students with the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and social context.
Outcome 5: Course enables students to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
