ALS 4991 - Honors Project I

Fall, spring. (yearlong) 4 credits.

Prerequisite: overall GPA of 3.3. Permission of Biology & Society department required. Enrollment limited to: Biology & Society seniors. Students must enroll for both the fall and spring semesters. BSOC 4991-BSOC 4992  is cross-listed with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as ALS 4991-ALS 4992  and the College of Human Ecology as HE 4991-HE 4992  . HE students should enroll in HE 4991 for College of Human Ecology credit. Students who are admitted to the honors program are required to complete two semesters of honors project research and to write an honors thesis. The project must include substantial research, and the completed work should be of wider scope and greater originality than is normal for an upper-level course. The student must find a project supervisor and a second faculty member willing to serve as faculty reader; at least one of these must be a member of the Biology and Society faculty.
