BIOPL 4220 - [Plant Development]


Fall. 2 credits.

Prerequisite: course work in molecular biology (e.g., BIOMG 3300 , BIOMG 3310 /BIOMG 3320 , or BIOMG 3330 ), and genetics (e.g., BIOMG 2800 ), or permission of instructor.

Introduction to plant development, studying the mechanisms of morphogenesis and cell fate determination at the organismal, cellular, and molecular levels.

Outcome 1: Explain, evaluate, and effectively interpret factual claims, theories and assumptions in plant development and more broadly in the sciences and humanities. Original research articles will be used for students to learn to evaluate and interpret data and draw conclusions.

Outcome 2: Communicate effectively speech, and visual information. Students will learn to effectively present research results through oral presentation with visual media.
