BIOSM 1600 - [Oceanography of the Gulf of Maine]

Prerequisite: two year-long high school courses in science, and completion of grades 10, 11 or 12. Offered in Maine at Shoals Marine Laboratory on Appledore Island and aboard Sea Education Association’s Corwith Cramer. Enrollment limited to 23 students.

Introduction to the biology and ecology of marine environment of the Isles of Shoals and Gulf of Maine from a ship and from a base on Appledore Island. Course focuses on blue water oceanography and rocky intertidal ecology. Offered jointly with Sea Education Association.
