CHEM 7930 - Quantum Mechanics I

Prerequisite: CHEM 3900, co-registration with CHEM 7870 or equivalents or permission of instructor.

Fundamental concepts in quantum mechanics. Topics will include the mathematical language of quantum mechanics, time-independent and time-dependent Schrodinger’s equations, classical mechanics, path integrals, theory of angular momentum, density matrices, many-electron wavefunctions and particle statistics, variational principle and time-independent perturbation theory.
