Investigates the history of technology in Europe and the United States from ancient times to the present. Topics include the economic and social aspects of industrialization; the myths of heroic inventors such as Morse, Edison, and Ford; the government’s regulation of technology; the origins of mass production; and the spread of the automobile and microelectronics cultures in the United States.
