The Films of Ingmar Bergman. Close analyses of Bergman’s films, from the early 1950s to the end of his film-making career, nested within the biography of Bergman, the art cinema narration characteristic of modernist film as a historical pattern, the depth psychological and religious aspects of his work, and Swedish cultural patterns. Suitable for undergraduates with some course work in film or literary analysis, and graduate students in the various arts. (HTC)
