Is there a singular French theorization of tele-technic? Or is what goes under the rubric of French theory a particular approach to the question of technology? We will examine this question in relation to several theorists who have written on film and photography, but also earlier technologies of writing, drawing, and painting. Authors will include Barthes, Baudrillard, Bourdieu, Deleuze, Derrida, Lacan, among others.
