ILRHR 6600 - HR Leadership: Views from the Top Fall or spring. 4 credits. Letter grades only.
Prerequisite: ILRHR 2600 /ILRHR 5600 or equivalent. Permission of instructor required. Enrollment limited to: graduate students, and senior undergraduate students.

This course is intended to introduce students to competencies, skills, and knowledge related to leadership roles in the HR function, with a specific focus on soft skills related to interacting with line leaders and managing the HR function in the context of the modern world of HR. The course is designed to provide students with the tools, critical thinking, and insights to begin developing their own style and thinking of how they will carry out HR leadership roles, tasks, and responsibilities. Content for the course will provided through a combination of lectures and exercises with the help of visiting Senior Executives. Emphasis is placed on developing relevant problem solving and critical thinking skills to prepare students for future roles as leaders in the function.
