ILRST 3110 - Probability Models and Inference for the Social Sciences(crosslisted) (also ECON 3110 , STSCI 3110 ) Fall, spring. 4 credits. Letter grades only.
Forbidden Overlap: Students may receive credit for only one course in the following group: ECON 3110 /ILRST 3110/STSCI 3110 , BTRY 3080 /STSCI 3080 , ECON 3125 (formerly 3210) , ECON 3130 (formerly 3190) , MATH 4710 . Prerequisite: MATH 1110 or equivalent.

This course provides an introduction to probability and parametric inference. Topics include: random variables, standard distributions, the law of large numbers, the central limit theorem, likelihood-based estimation, sampling distributions and hypothesis testing.
