LING 4404 - Syntax II

Prerequisite: LING 4403 or permission of instructor.

A continuation of LING 4403 , focusing on syntactic dependencies, including the theory of control, an examination of locality constraints on movement, covert versus overt movement, and the syntax of quantification. The purpose of the course is to develop the background needed for independent syntactic research.
