Study and performance mostly of traditional Javanese gamelan music. Group rehearsal once a week in preparation for one concert. Individual instruction is offered as necessary; those wishing to learn advanced techniques should also enroll in MUSIC 4641 - Advanced Instruction in Gamelan. MUSIC 1341 - Gamelan in Indonesian History and Cultures is not an absolute prerequisite, but it or other relevant experience is recommended.
