PE 1481 - Small Boat Competitive Sailing

Fall, spring. 1 credit.

Prerequisite: Sailing experience required, racing experience preferred. Course fee: TBA. Includes one-year membership in university sailing team program.

This course teaches the basic skills necessary to sail small boats safely and competitively. The vanguard 420 sailboat will be used to teach this course. The USYRU Rules book will be the text for the course. Recommended for those who want to join the sailing team. Course fee includes one full year membership in the university sailing team program. Class times are 3-6 hours per session. 6 Sessions and 1 regatta required for Physical Education credit.
