A laboratory approach to new plays involving text analysis, scene work, and interactions with the authors of unproduced work. Authors who agree to participate with the class will submit plays for study and rehearsal. Authors will be included in discussions of the work via SKYPE and other Internet tools. The course will work with various theatres and new play networks in selecting plays and authors. At least one Cornell playwright will be included in each semester. Whenever possible, international writers will be part of the makeup of the class. (HTC)
