Permission of instructor required. Enrollment limited to: 10 students. Students should see instructor one year in advance to sign up for course. Special consideration given to students who have completed PMA 2800 or are intending to continue in area of stage or screen directing.

Focused, practical exercises teach the student fundamental staging techniques that bring written text to theatrical life. A core objective is to increase the student’s awareness of why and how certain stage events communicate effectively to an audience. Each student directs a number of exercises as well as a short scene. (AU)
