BIOPL 4813 - [Signal Transduction in Plants: Reproduction] Spring. 1 credit.
Prerequisite: Introductory Genetics (BIOMG 2800 or equivalent) and Biochemistry (BIOMG 3300 , or BIOMG 3310 and BIOMG 3320 , or equivalent), or BIOPL 4831 , or permission of instructor. Next offered 2014-2015.
J. Nasrallah.
The module focuses on the molecular signals and pathways that underlie the development and function of reproductive structures. Topics include signaling in the establishment of pattern and functional differentiation of specialized cell types in the flower, and the cell-cell signaling events that underlie pollination and fertilization. The differentiation of these pathways in various model plants and their overlaps with signaling pathways that underlie plant growth and defense will be discussed
