HIST 6824 - [History of Slavery]

This course will study the development, defeat, and effects of slavery in the U.S. and in the Americas as a whole. We will discuss the causes of slavery, how it shaped the American Revolution and Constitution, the idea of race, the experience of enslaved people, and the long-term consequences of slavery for American and world history.
