HE 6012 - Introduction to Evaluation

Fall. 3 credits.

M. Johnson.

This graduate-level survey course offers an opportunity for students to develop their natural capacity for evaluative thinking into a more structured skill set, so as to support evidence-based decision making in planning, administration and policy analysis in the U.S. domestic context. Students will learn basic concepts and methods of the field, including quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches. The systematic use of logic modeling techniques is emphasized. Students who successfully complete the course will possess the basic tools needed to plan and execute well-constructed program evaluations, as well as an awareness of the larger contexts within which evaluation work is situated.
