This seminar will examine a wide range of work on the border by historians, cultural theorists, novelists, and performance studies scholars in order to analyze and understand the histories, cultures and representations of the U.S.-Mexico border that are so important to contemporary self-fashioning and policy-making in the United States and Mexico.
