CHEME 5720 - Managing New Business Development


     
Fall. 3 credits. Letter grades only.

Enrollment preference given to: students in the M.Eng. Energy Economics and Engineering Concentration (EEE), other M.Eng. programs, ChemE Seniors, followed by graduate students and seniors from other disciplines.

Case study and team-based approach, supplemented by lectures. An introduction to the key fundamental factors driving a business venture. Facilitates the appreciation and understanding of project economics/development and management skills necessary to successfully evaluate, plan and implement the venture.

Outcome 1: Outcome 1: An understanding of how a business entity assesses new opportunities including project.

Outcome 2: Understanding and appreciation of market entry strategies and the supply chain aspects of a business.

Outcome 3: Understanding of and practice in negotiating business strategies and techniques.
