ECE 5670 - Digital Communications

Fall (not offered every year). 4 credits. Letter grades only.

Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will not receive credit for both ECE 4670 and ECE 5670.
Prerequisite: ECE 3250, ECE 4110. Co-meets with ECE 4670. Students enrolled in ECE 5670 will have extra readings, homework problems, and a more-advanced final design project.

Principles of modeling communication baseband and passband channels. Methods for communicating in the presence of intersymbol interference, noise, channel uncertainty, and asynchrony. Design, in software, of a transmitters and receivers to communicate over audio-band and RF channels.
