Application of knowledge to case studies is emphasized to develop skills in integrating nutrition into the assessment and management of acute illness and chronic medical conditions.

Outcome 1: Show a working knowledge of the etiology, pathophysiology, and altered metabolism that occurs in various disease states.

Outcome 2: Apply knowledge of pathophysiology and nutritional biochemistry to physiology, health and disease.
