LATIN 2201 - Latin Prose


(HB) (ALC-AS, LA-AS) Satisfies Option 1.      


Fall, Spring. 3 credits. Letter grades only.

Prerequisite: LATIN 1205  or grade of A- or above in LATIN 1202 LATIN 1204 , or placement by departmental exam. Co-meets with LATIN 5221 .

Spring 2023: Lessons in Leadership: This course will examine classical examples of leadership, conduct, and decision making by powerful men and women in the ancient world. Students will gain fluency and mastery in reading Latin by reading and debating interesting case studies, anecdotes, and distillations of best practices by authors from the late republic and Augustan period.
