ART 1701 - Digital Media for Non-Majors

Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will not receive credit for both ART 1701 and ARCH 2502.
Cannot be taken for B.Arch. credit. Counts as free elective for B.F.A. students; counts as 1000-level studio for art minor.

Staff.

This foundational studio introduces students to digital media practices in contemporary art making. Students explore several software platforms, develop critical thinking skills and investigate the historical, social, aesthetic and theoretical issues that are integral to the changing nature of technology. Topics may include digital image production, time-based art and sound, network culture, and interactivity.
