Fundamentals of heat and mass transfer. Macroscopic and microscopic balances. Applications to problems involving conduction, convection, and diffusion.

Outcome 1: Learn to formulate and solve mathematical models that capture the primary processes governing heat and mass transfer in simple physical settings.

Outcome 2: Design heat exchangers and heat transfer equipment.
