CS 5830 - Cryptography Fall. 3 credits. Student option grading.
Prerequisite: CS 2800 or equivalent, CS 4810 or mathematical maturity, or permission of instructor. Co-meets with CS 4830 /CS 6830 .

Introductory course in Cryptography. Topics include one-time pads, stream ciphers, block ciphers, authenticated encryption, asymmetric encryption, digital signatures, and more. The focus is on contemporary cryptographic algorithms used in practice, with some introduction to formal analyses.
