HE 1850 - Introduction to Human Ecology Spring. 1 credit. Student option grading.

This course introduces students to the mission, history, values, and curricular and co-curricular programs of Human Ecology. The course will complement learning within majors by offering a broader perspective on the framing of social problems through a multidisciplinary lens. Students are introduced to equitable community partnership practices. Finally, the course offers the opportunity to forge connections with peers and faculty across the College.
Outcome 1: Describe the mission, values, and history of the College of Human Ecology.
Outcome 2: Identify the scholarly areas of excellence within the College, specifically, health equity, sustainability and society, and technology and human flourishing.
Outcome 3: Explain the principles of community-engaged learning and identify engaged-learning opportunities in the College.
Outcome 4: Practice self-reflection skills to identify personal learning goals.
