Program Description

The Animal Science minor offers a great opportunity for any undergraduate student to pursue their interests in the Animal Science field in an accessible manor. 

Academic Standards

Minor Declaration Information

• No prerequisite courses are necessary before declaring the minor.
• Animal Science Majors are not permitted to minor in Animal Science 
• Students declaring a minor in Animal Science must declare the minor prior to graduating. To declare a minor, students should contact the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Minimum Credits for Minor: 15

Minor Requirements

• Students must complete animal science courses (ANSC-coded courses, including cross-listed courses and BIOAP 1100). Special Studies courses cannot count towards the total ANSC credit hours.
• Students must complete at least one of the four core Animal Science courses (BIOAP 1100, ANSC 2400, ANSC 2120, ANSC 2210). 
• No more than 3 credits (1 course) can be used to fulfill requirements for the student’s major. 

Credits or courses used to fulfill requirements for the Animal Science minor cannot be used to meet requirements for another minor.
