Program Description

The AACSB-accredited Masters of Management in Hospitality (MMH) program is a three-semester, 16-month professional degree program that provides a thorough grounding in business management in the context of the hospitality industry. In addition to a strong core course plan that prepares students to lead a variety of hospitality businesses, students may specialize in areas of unique challenges and opportunities in this exciting and ever-growing and changing industry. Additionally, students may choose to complete a graduate minor in real estate.

The program requirements include the successful completion of online courses in finance, accounting, and statistics the summer prior to the beginning of the first semester. Degree requirements include completion of 48 approved credits taken over the course of three semesters.

Kyoto MBA/Cornell MMH Collaborative Degree

Program Description

Partnering with the Kyoto University Graduate School of Management, the Nolan School offers a unique international collaborative degree opportunity for students to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Kyoto University and a Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) from Cornell University in four semesters over two years. The program delivers an integrated curriculum in management and hospitality, designed to develop globally minded professionals with advanced leadership capabilities.

Students benefit from instruction by distinguished faculty whose expertise spans leadership, hospitality, marketing, artificial intelligence, and information technology management, alongside industry practitioners with extensive real-world experience. Students spend their first semester at Kyoto University taking MBA core courses. Their second and third semesters are spent at Cornell University completing the MMH degree with credits transferred from their first term at Kyoto University. Students then spend their fourth and final term at Kyoto University completing their remaining Kyoto University MBA requirements. 

This unique international program welcomes motivated individuals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. It is ideally suited for those seeking to combine foundational business theory with practical applications in hospitality and service management.

M² Program Cornell-Peking (MMH/MBA)

Program Description

After two years of study, graduates of the M² Program Cornell-Peking MMH/MBA dual degree program receive an MBA from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University (PKU) and a Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) degree from Cornell's Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. This program provides flexibility for students to enroll part-time, with up to five years from admission to complete their degree requirements. It is designed to support the demanding lifestyles of executive professionals in China, offering adaptable options to help balance work, life, and academic commitments.

Its bilingual approach, class composition, and unique market presence—the Nolan School and PKU split the teaching with participants spending 70% of their time on the Guanghua School's campus in Shanghai and 30% in Ithaca and New York City during U.S. residential sessions.

The M² Program curriculum, which combines theory and practice, will be taught jointly by faculty at the two schools. Faculty at the Guanghua School teach MBA core courses; Nolan School faculty provide the specialized hospitality management core—in areas such as real estate, service operations, analytics, and human resource management.

Program Policies

M² Program students are expected to earn the MBA degree from Peking University Guanghua School of Management and the MMH degree from Cornell University Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Students who fail to complete the degree requirements for both degree programs may still earn the MMH degree if they complete all requirements for the MMH degree. Student records will be reviewed for MMH degree conferral eligibility once Cornell coursework is completed and we have received the student’s official transcript from Peking University showing completion of the Peking University courses required for the MMH degree. Cornell University confers degrees three times per year in May, August, and December. Students will be awarded the Cornell MMH degree in the degree cycle following completion of all MMH degree requirements.
