Program Description
The mathematics minor is available to undergraduates majoring in other disciplines across the university who have an interest in studying mathematics. Students planning a minor in mathematics may seek advice on course selection from the director of undergraduate studies.
The undergraduate coordinator is the main contact person for the minor.
Academic Standards
Grade Requirements
- All courses must be taken for a letter grade. Grades of S/U or SX/UX will not be accepted.
- Each course must be completed with a grade of C- or better, unless noted otherwise, to count toward the minor.
- Second attempts to meet a minimum grade requirement for admission to the minor require pre-approval.
Minor Declaration Information
To apply for admission to the minor, visit the Mathematics Minor website.
Program Information
- Minimum Credits for Minor: 12
Minor Requirements
Admission to the minor requires a semester each of linear algebra and multivariable calculus. The department recommends1 MATH 2210–MATH 2220 or MATH 2230–MATH 2240.
